President Roger Ting led the two Leo Presidents to GoBald for a worthy cause. Together they raised RM29,878.00. Leo President Oscar Koh is from SM Lodge Leo Club and Leo President Xavier Liao Zhe is from St Joseph Private School Leo Club.

Pink Ribbon Virtual Run @ Darul Hana Bridge , Kuching 24 October 2020

 

Lions members were up and early to be at the Darul Hana Bridge in support of the Pink Ribbon virtual Run organised by the Breast Cancer Support group headed by President Datin Juriah Sulehan.

Region 1 GAT training @ Telang Usan Hotel, Kuching 18 Oct 2020

Four members participated in the Region 1  GAT training at Telang Usan Hotel, Kuching. DC Helena Lim and PP Sheila Kho were speakers at the training. ZC Mary Lu and DC Annie Ho also attended.

  President Roger Ting together with members of Region 1 clubs paid a visit to Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui  Hian to invite him as a guest of honour for the Region 1 Sight First project at Batu Kawa,Kuching

Donation to a fire student victim in St Teresa's Secondary School 1 Oct 2020

  Vanessa, a fifth former of St Teresa, and her family lost their place of lodging at the Tay Hak Hak warehouse fire recently. the Vanessa Tho project was held at 12.15 pm at the school's Admin block. There were food items from the students, and items worth  RM250 from the school C0-Curriculum Fund, cash of RM250 from the St Teresa Leo Club's project fund and joint sponsorship of essential items/ food from PP Helena Lim, PP Caroline Sim and Leo Advisor PP Sheila Adenan.

Mid Autumn Festival luncheon at Home of Peace 1st October 2020

OC PP Vincent Tan organized a mid-autumn festival luncheon for the residents and staff of the Home. The food was sponsored by Taiwan Siao Jou. OC PP Vincent donated some washing detergent for the Home. PP Caroline Sim and PP Sheila Kho also attended the luncheon.

Salvation Army Children Home 26 Sept 2020

 

Ln Dr. Chong Pek Lin has been giving music and singing lessons to the children at the Home since the club set up the Centennial Community Legacy project.  Dr. Chong has selflessly volunteered her time to give these children a chance to appreciate music and to enrich and broaden their minds. A very worthy cause indeed! Thank you, Ln Dr Chong Pek Lin.

President Roger Ting accompanied by Leo Advisor DC Helena Lim, ZC Mary Lu and PP Sheila Adenan attended the initiation of the Leo members at the school . President Roger initiated the members while PP Sheila Adenan share invaluable experiences with the Leos. ZC Mary also spoke and encouraged the Leos. President Roger sponsored the lunch for the participants.

The 31st AGM was held in Sarawak Club. It was attended by 28 members and 3 Friends of Lions who are potential members. The meeting was chaired by President Roger Ting. On the same evening, OC Jane initiated the GOBald project. President Roger will go GoBald for the good cause.

Leos from Lodge School and St Joseph's Private School, accompaied by their Leo Advisors, PDG Tan Soh Har, Ln Heng Aik Ban, Ln Patricia Chang,PP Helena Lim and Faculty advisor John Yap visited the Home of Peace. PP Sheila Kho also attended. During the visit, Sister Ursula briefed them on the background of the home and their needs. Leo President Oscar and President Xavier spoke and expressed their gratitude for being able to visit the home and learn more about it. Both Leo clubs donated food ration and toileteries for the home.

Nur Karmira revisited 31st August 2020

OC Ln Heng Aik Ban,Ln Patricia Chang, PP Helena Lim and PP Teresa Wu visited the family to follow up on their progress.Nur Kamira is now working as a cleaner with Emart Batu Kawa earning RM35 per day. During the visit, PP Helena Lim gave them some more cash from the donation pool initiated by PP Sheila Kho earlier to assist them with the children school bus fare.
