Lions Club of Kuching City and SM Lodge Leo played host to more than eighty guests which consisted of the handicapped and their families. This annual project brings Christmas joy and gifts to the members of the GROWTH community. Eleven members of Lions Club of Kuching City participated in the activity lead by President Irene Tan. They are PDG Tan Soh Har, IPP Andrew Tsen,PP Ivy Fong, PP Jessie Ho, , PP Caroline Sim, Lion Jane Ling, Lion Helena Lim, Lion Kristie Lok, PP Sheila Kho and Lion Arlene Tsen,. OC Vincent Tan was unwell and could not come to participate. PDG Tan Soh Har, OC Vincent Tan and Lion Jane Ling donated cash towards the project while President Irene Tan, Lion Alice Kon, PP Sheila Kho, PP Jessie Ho, Lion Kristie Lok, PP Dora Lam, Lion Datin Janet, PP Teresa, IPP Andrew Tsen, and PDG Tan Soh Har donated presents for the games.  Region Chair Feliz Hu and Zone 1 Chair Marie Lim came to support the project. Present were also the President of Growth Josh John, Spiritual leader of Growth, Father Felix Au and their committee members. Carols were sang, games played and many presents handed out to all the special guests.

Fourteen members from Lions Club of Kuching City attended the 30th anniversary of SMK St Teresa Leo Club at Telang Usang Hotel.  During the function, PDG Tan Soh Har donated RM500 towards their project fund.

Lions Club of Kuching City celebrated her 26th anniversary at Pullman Hotel's Chinese Resutarant on the 15th October 2014. Eighteen members attended the private function who also witnessed PP Annie Ho receiving theLCI membership growth pin from President Irene Tan. During the dinner, the members also celebrated the birthday of secretary Jane Ling.

Fellowship

Five members paid a visit to Lions Club of Taipei Lung Shan, Taipei from the 2nd - 6th Oct 2014 led by President Irene Tan.  The proposed twinning between the two clubs was disucssed during their BOD on the 5th Oct 2014. During the visit, the members  attended many fellowships with the members of  Lions Club of Taipei Lung Shan and went on sightseeing around Taipei. During the farewell dinner, the 1st VDG, 2nd VDG and Cabinet Secretary also attended.

Region 1 Peace Poster Contest was held at Boulevard mall on Sunday , 28.9.14.  The Guest of Honour was District Governor 308-A2 Dato Betty Wong who was accompanied by her partner in service, ZC Dato Dr Jimmy Tie. IPDG Kung Kuok Yew was also present at the function. To officiate the opening of the function, 18 doves were release outside Imperial hotel.

Two entries from schools under Kuching City emerged as winners. Rachael Tong from SJK Chung Hua No 5 was awarded a consolation prize and Christine Chiong from Lodge Secondary School was awarded the second prize.

President Irene, Secretary Jane, Treasurer Caroline, PP Dora and PP Sheila Kho participated in the function.

Lions Fellowship hosted by PDG Tan Soh Har 6th September 2014

Lions from Lions Club of Kuching Host, Kuching City, Kuching Emerald and Kuching Metro enjoyed a barbeque fellowship hosted by PDG Tan Soh Har and  PP Raymond Wee at their residence on the 6th September 2014. Amongst the guests is a Lion member, Johnson Wong from London Chinatown Lions Club. Nine members from Kuching City attended the fellowship. They are Secretary Jane Ling, Treasurer Caroline Sim, PP Dora Lam, Lion Kristie Lok, IPP Andrew Tsen, Lion Arlene, Lion Alice Kon, PP Sheila Kho and PP Sheila Adenan.

Home of Peace 15th Sept 2014

Four members, Secretary Jane Ling , PP Jessie Ho, PP Ivy Fong and Lion Alice Kon paid a visit to the Home of Peace on  Monday 15th Sept 2014. They brought along food ration,toileteries and cleaning agents for the Home which were donated by various members of the clubs. 

Mangrove trees planting @ Kuching Wetland National Park 20.9.2014

One thousand mangrove seedlings were planted by Lions members, staff from Forestry department and Red Crescent members at the Kuching Wetland National Park on Saturday morning. This meaningful environmental project is jointly organised by Jabatan Hutan Sarawak, Region 1 Lions Clubs and Red Crescent Pending Chapter. 

 President Irene, PP Jessie and Lion Alice represented the club to make a difference to the environment.
