An election meeting was held with an attendance of 23 members. The meeting went smoothly and efficiently under the hands of nomination chairperson, PP Jane Ling and assisted by IPP Helena Lim.

Chinese New Year project at Home of Peace, Kuching on 31 Jan 2019

Four members made their way to Home of Peace, Jalan Landeh, 10th mile,Padawan on the 31st Jan 2019 to send all the goodies and ang pow to the Home. This is an annual project for the club. The donors are PP Jane Ling, IPP Helena Lim, PP Caroline sim, PP Annie Ho, PP Teresa Wu, PP Datin Juriah Sulehan, President Mary Lu, PP Vincent Tan, PP Jessie Ho, Lion Kristie Lok and  OC/ PP Sheila Kho.

Annual Chinese New Project with St Vincent De Paul for 10 underprivileged families on 26 Jan 2019

Once again at this time of the year, the club and members donate to ten underprivileged Chinese families who are the adoptees of St Vincent De Paul, the Catholic church, Kuching. The donors are OC and PP Dora Lam, President Mary Lu, Ln Dr Chong Pek Lin, PP Annie Ho, PP Andrew Tsen, Ln Arlene, Ln Richard Hii, Ln Agnes Kong, Ln Bong Tien Onn, PP Alice Kon and PP Datin Juriah.

Movie Night with boys from Salvation Army Boys Home @ MBO,Kuching 16.1.2019

29 boys were treated to the movie, Mary Poppins Return at MBO,Kuching on the 16 Jan 2019. Three Lions accompanied them, together with 4 staff from the Home. The members who attended were PP Sheila Kho, PP Caroline  Sim and PP Vincent Tan. The movie was sponsored by PP Vincent Tan and Oc/PP Sheila Kho

Charter member PP Ivy Lai Fong. Departed 18th Jan 2019 at 5.40 am

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Charter Member, 

Past President Ivy Lai Fong on Friday morning 18.1.19 at 5.40 am.

Ivy was a strong woman, always very focused and determined. She was a great member and friend and full of life. She was instrumental in many Lions projects such as Silver Hair project and Women Symposium among many others throughout her 30 years of service, and a great fundraiser. Ivy was passionate about her work with the underprivileged, she loved life, she was a keen traveller, and she was a great mentor to Lions Club of Kuching City.

We have lost a great champion, a wonderful person and a dear friend.

Rest in Peace, Ivy. We will miss you greatly and you will always be in our hearts.

SK Telaga Air joint project with Alpro Pharmacy and Pelangi Publications, 15 Aug 2018

SK Telaga Air joint project with Alpro Pharmacy and Pelangi Publications. Six members headed by OC Heng Aik Ban carried out the joint project at the school which benefitted 203 students. Books donated by Pelangi Publication were handed over by Pelangi rep to the headmaster. Alpro Pharmacy's pharmacist Kiing Ai Siong did a presentation on HFMD and a washing demo which was participated by all the children. Deworming tablets were also given to the students present. President Mary Lu, PP Sheila Adenan,PP Caroline Sim, PP Teresa Wu, ZC Helena Lim were amongst the participants.

Visit by PID Eddy Widjanarko 22 July 2018

PID Eddy Widjanarko had a short fellowship with some members of LC of Kuching City after his personal function. Before he and his group left Kuching at noon, they had breakfast hosted by PP Annie Ho and visited the Lions Nursing Home. The members present were PDG Tan Soh Har, Z1C Helena Lim, DC Sheila Kho, PP Annie Ho and PP Vincent Tan.

Over 140 participants attended the Region 1 Leo Officers training school at Chung Hua Middle School No 1. This year, the training school runs from 8am - 4.30 pm and covered a wide range of topics which are beneficial to the Leos, Faculty advisors and the Leo advisors. The speakers for the training sessions are Dc Leadership, Sheila Kho, Z1C Helena Lim, RC Sim Kuang Boon, Z2C Sim Kuang Tee and Z3C Jeff Lee.

Region 1 Lions Officers School was held in Meritin Hotel,Padungan Road,Kuching. Three speakers were from LC of Kuching City. They are DC Leadership Sheila Kho, Z1C Helena Lim and PP Irene Tan.
