Go Green Rally 11.11.11
Participants and well wishers before they set off to Serian and onward to Sibu. Flag off at Lions Nursing Home. Two of Kuching City members, (ZC Ivy Fong and Secretary Alice Kon) joined the rally from Kuching to Miri.

They were President Vincent Tan, PP Sheila Adenan, ZC Ivy Fong, Secretary Alice Kon and PP Sheila Kho. President Vincent accompanied by the two Sheila accompanied the rally until Serian.

5th BOD meeting and fellowship @ KGS 8.11.11

HOPE Charity Sales 6th November 2011
Seven members were at the stall to raise fund for the Home of Peace. Together, they sold chai kueh (donated by President Vincent), Chicken Pies (donated by PP Juriah), Banana muffins, toilet rolls holders and girls support garments (donated by PP Sheila Kho), Treasurer Irene supplied the plastic bags and some well wishers donated batteries,DVD and herbal tea. They raised RM1,077.00 in the sales. The members who attended were President Vincent, Treasurer Irene,PP Juriah Sulehan,PP Caroline Sim, PP Teresa Wu, PP Sheila Kho and Lion Andrew Tsen.

Visit to Twinned District 300-G1 Hsinchu, Taiwan 17th - 19 Oct 2011

Hakka dinner hosted by PDG Peng Jui Te (in pink). PDG Tsai and PDG Liew Siew Ching also joined the dinner.
PDG Peng Jui Te kindly lead the hike in the mountain in Sinpu township.PDG Liew Siew Ching (right)bought a pair of sports shoes just to come along with us. We were so humbled by her care and attention during our stay in Hsinchu.
Our excellent hosts during our two night stay in Hsinchu, IPP Wang Yi Hsian (in blue) and husband in their lovely home.
Two members of Kuching City( PP Sheila Kho and Treasurer Irene Tan)and PDG Mary Law visited our twinned district 300-G1 from 17th - 19th October 2011. The hospitality from our sisters and brothers in our twinned district were overwhelming. They were excellent hosts and we spent many memorable hours with them.
In Memory of Uncle Mario Tan Meng Hua (1926-2011)
Uncle Tan passed away peacefully in the Home of Peace on the 19th October 2011, aged 86. He is one of the pioneer resident at the Home. Kuching City members celebrated his 86th birthday in March 2011. Uncle Tan will be remembered fondly as being cheerful and always so happy to see us when we visit. He will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace, Uncle Tan.

Charity Golf tournament 2011 @ KGS 9th Oct 2011
Lions Club of Kuching City successfully organised the Charity Golf tournament on the 9th Oct 2011 at Kelab Golf Sarawak. Over 100 golfers took part in the 18 holes competition. District Governor Dr Tan Tsu Kun performed a symbolic tee off to start the tournament, witnessed by Lions dignitaries.
The tournament ended with a lunch for all the participants. Prizes, totally RM9,000.00 were given out to the winners during the prize giving, in addition to numureous lucky draws.

Lions of Kuching City celebrated her 23rd anniversary with a gathering of over 100 guests from District 308-A1, 308-A2 and 307B. Members from three sister clubs - Jakarta Nusantara, Singapore Central and Surabaya Srikandi came to join in the celebration. The guest of honour was District Governor 308-A2 Dr Tan Tsu Kun who attended with 1st VDG Cheang Eu Hea, 2nd VDG Kung Kuok Yew, Cabinet Secretary Bong Boon Kho and cabinet officers.
