14th Induction and Installation of Kolej DPAH Abdillah Leo Club 28th Oct 08

Leo Club of Kolej DPAH Abdillah was formed in 1994 under the guidance of the late Past President Teresa Sim until her untimely demise in 2007. This Leo Club had won numerous awards in the past for their activeness and contribution to society. In this fiscal year, Lions Club of Kuching City, being their sponsoring club decided that these Leos deserved the support to be active again. PP Sheila Adenan took the initiative to contact the Leo members and organised this 14th installation and induction at the college.

Ten Lion members (out of which 8 were past presidents) from the club, lead by President Alex Low, showed up to give their strong support and encouragement to the Leos. DC Leo Chong Nam Fah inducted the new members and DG Sim Boon Chuan installed the President and his Board of Directors to their office. Present also to support were the college's Pergetua Kanan Puan Zohara Zen and their faculty advisor, Puan Marlinda bt Abdul Razak. Region Chairman Chua Boon Kuan and DC Membership Cecil Adenan were also amongst those present. On a passing thought, the late PP Teresa Sim would be so proud to see so many Lions in the college this afternoon to support her "baby" and we are sure she is smiling down at us now.

Youngest Friend of Lions

She may be only 8 months old but she has attended more Lions projects and activities than many Lion members. In her record, she has attended the Lions family day in Borneo Highland, Lions Oscar Night, Hari Raya visits to Muslim Lion members' houses, breakfast/welcome lunch/fellowship dinner /visit to Lions Nursing Home, / Siar Beach Resort with our sister club members.

Expected to continue to be very active in the near future. Pleasant and uncomplaining disposition. Well liked by people she meets.

Sister Club visit from 10th -12th Oct 08

10th Oct 08- Supper at Expert, RH Plaza with six visiting sister club members from Lions Club of Penang Host, lead by their President Loo Boon Jin, upon their arrival in Kuching on the evening of the 10th October 08. PCC Jeffery Quah was amongst the members visiting.

Six members LC of Penang Host visited the Lions Nursing Home at Stutong,Kuching on the 11th Oct 08. They were welcomed by the home's PR officer, DC Cecil Adenan and Matron Ella. Matron gave the visitors a briefing about the home and later, the visiting lions donated RM1,000 towards the home.

4th BOD meeting and Hari Raya Fellowship

The 4th BOD and Hari Raya fellowship was held at DC Sheila Adenan's house on the 9th Oct 08. Most of the BOD turned out for the meeting. After the meeting, the BOD and members adjourned for dinner and good fellowship.

MERL conference 4th Oct 08 Kuching

54 participants attended the MERL conference at Grand Continental Hotel,Kuching. District Governor Sim Boon Chuan and Region 1 Chairperson Chua Boon Kwang were amongst the participants. DC Sheila Kho spoke on lions membership statistics, DC Cecil Adenan on membership, PDG Dr William Voon on retention and DC Sheila Adenan spoke on extension. The floor's was co-operative and participated actively during the conference.
