Lions busy serving the residents

This Silver Hair project was organised jointly by Lions Club of Kuching City, Kuching Metro, Kuching Ixora and Kuching Kota Samarahan.  About one hundred old folks were entertained with songs and a buffet dinner. The members from the four clubs came in full force to serve the old folks in the hall and in the wards.

The members from LC of Kuching City who participated were President Irene Tan, IPP Andrew Tsen,  Secretary Jane Ling, Treasurer Caroline Sim, Membership Chairperson Jessie Ho, OC PP Ivy Fong, PP Sheila Adenan, Lion Alice Kon, PP Annie Ho, Lion Millie Loon ( who donated RM300 towards this project), Lion Helena Lim, Lion Mona Tan, PP Dora Lam, Lion Arlene Usigan,PP Sheila Kho and Lion Kristie Lok. (16/30).

Preparing tuna buns for the children

Jointly organised with SMK St Teresa Leo club, the deaf children at the school had an enjoyable afternoon of fun. Thirty four Leos with two faculty advisors turned up in strong force to organise various  games , and colouring contest for them while the Lions prepared the food. Fourteen Lions members  and President Cecil from Lions Club of Allamanda came to support the event.

PP Alex Low donated the Merdeka cake and KFC, PP Jessie Ho donated a set of national and state flags, Lion Alice Kon donated jellies, OC PP Sheila Adenan donated a doll for the first prize colouring contest and trees for the garden, PP Sheila Kho donated stationaries for 1st-3rd prizes colouring contest, PP Dora Lam donated sweets, President Irene Tan, PP Vincent Tan and Lion Kristie Lok donated drinks.

Twenty one members attended the Region 1 Joint installation at Imperial Hotel,Kuching. President Irene Tan was the organising chairperson for the function. During the evening, three new members were inducted by  1st VDG Lawrence Ting, They are Lion Helena Lim (sponsor President Irene Tan), Lion Mona Tan (sponsor Membership chair Jessie Ho)and  Lion Dr Loo Zia Yee (sponsor PP Annie Ho).

Four District Fellows contibutions were pledged by President Irene Tan, Lion Mona Tan, Lion Helena Lim and Lion Millie Loon while PP Vincent Tan pledged for a Melvin Jones Fellow.

PP Sheila Kho received a LCI Excellent Zone Chair award for FY 2012-2013 (under PDG Chieng Eu Hea) from District Governor Dato Betty Wong.

Joint Hari Raya project 19th July 2014

OC PP Sheila Adenan organised this Joint Hari Raya project which covered five areas - Kpg Tabuan, Taman Seoakat Jaya, Kpg Goebilt, Kpg Bako Lot and Kpg Muara Tebas. Eleven under - priviledged families benefited from this yearly project where food ration, new Raya clothes, school bags and stationaies were distributed.The families are all single parents and two orphans.  This project is jointly participated by Lions Club of Kuching City, Lions Club of Kuching Allamanda , Leo Club of SM Lodge and Leo Club of SMK St Teresa. Thirty nine Leos from SMK St Teresa and four from SM Lodge attended this project. Nine members from LC of Kuching City came to support this project. Lead by President Irene Tan, the others who came are OC Sheila  Adenan , IPP Andrew Tsen, PP Dora Lam, PP Jessie Ho, Treasurer Caroline Sim, Lion Alice Kon, PP Juriah Sulehan and Arlene  Usigan.  The members who donated towards this project are PDG Tan Soh Har, PP Annie Ho, OC/PP Sheila Adenan, PP Jessie Ho,  PP Juriah Sulehan, IPP Andrew Tsen, Lion Kristie Lok, PP Vincent Tan, Lion Lilian Lee and President Irene Tan.
