Lions Club of Kuching City responded to the plight for assistance for this underpriviledged family at 17th mile, Kuching Serian Road.  The family was previously renting one bedroom for RM450.00 which housed the couple and their 6 kids. Their plight caught the attention of Padawan Council Chairman who helped them to get this government 2 bedroom flat. However, whenever it rain, water sipped into the flat making the floor wet. The occupants were then sleeping on the floor.  When Gerald Goh posted  this on his FB, Kuching City decided to donate RM2,000 towards buying the family proper beds and mattresses. The father of the family, Mr Bong is unemployed as he has a heart condition. His wife does odd jobs but is quite occupied with looking after one handicapped adopted child who is 16 years old and their own young children. Their eldest boy who is 15 years old is already working in Miri.
