 Four members, 1st VP Andrew, Secretary Irene, PP Caroline and PP Sheila attended the 6th RLLI at Mega Hotel, Miri from 25th - 28th Oct 2012.  Fifty five Lions from Singapore, Johor, Penang, Sarawak and Sabah attended the four days of intensive training over 9 modules. The participants were exposed to various skills training with many reflection of one self and of the Lions organisation. The programme ended on the last day with a Public Speaking Presentation by all the participants, with PP Sheila Kho emerging as the best speaker for the English session.

Two of the committee members of the centre received the donation from President Jessie Ho. Other members who attended the presentation were 1st VP Andrew Tsen, Secretary Irene Tan, IPP Vincent Tan and PP Sheila Kho.

Eleven Leos from St Teresa's Secondary School.accompanied by their teacher, Mdm Lesmy an Tipot and her family, and five Lions participated in the Lions and Leos family day from the 20th - 21st Oct 2012 at Siar Beach Resort, Lundu. The trip was filled with team building activities, mind searching and frustrating games to tax the brain. Through the activities, it brought the Leos and Lions closer. The outdoor games were conducted by PP Cecil Adenan( Kuching Allamada) and his staff, Encik Mohd Zailani Abdullah, an experienced outdoor trainer.

In the evening the Lions and Leos were treated to a barbeque of chicken wings, sausages and fresh crabs hosted by PP John Chua (Lions Club of Kuching Host), the boss of the resort. Thank you, Uncle John!

PP Sheila Kho gave two talks the  next morning after breakfast. The first was an orientation for some of the new members, touching on how the Leos will benefit from being a Leo and the second session was on protocol and decorum- " How Leos should behave". Short quizzes were given on the Leos' knowledge of  the Lions organization.

The Lions who participated were President Jessie Ho, 1st VP Andrew Tsen, PP Sheila Adenan, PP Caroline Sim and PP Sheila Kho.
Both the Lions and Leos had a fruitful time. They had lunch at Lundu town, hosted by all the five Lions and  got  home safely, tired but with good memories.

Region 1 Peace Poster Contest Exhibition and Colour Competition,Tun Jugah,KuchingThe 7th Oct 2012









The entries for the Peace Poster Contest this year are of amazingly high quality. The students had put in a lot of effort in their work. These posters were exhibited at Tun Jugah Mall , Kuching for a week from the 7th - 12th October 2012 for the public to view the excellent work of our local talents!.











After the prize giving for the Peace Posters Contests winners,, a colouring competition was carried out for all the children present.

One of the judges, a local renowned artist, David Chew gave away a participation certificate to one of the contestants, received on behalf by PP Caroline Sim

Over 200 entries were received by Region 1 Lions Clubs for the Peace Poster Contest. Judging of the posters was carried out on the 1st October 2012 by three local artists in the presence of Lions members. An exhibition was carried out from the 7th - 12th Oct 2012 at Tun Jugah Mall. Prize giving to the winners was done on the 7th Oct 2012, followed by a children colouring competition.  Three members attended the exhibition and prize giving. They were 1st VP Andrew Tsen, PP Caroline Sim and PP Sheila Kho.
